Portrait Drawing Class 6

Christophe modeled again this week. Some students moved their easels in closer towards the model for a more charged view in order to study specific aspects of the model's face. Some people tended to explore tone in their drawing. In some cases the empty sheet was attacked with charcoal to establish a sfumato effect from which the drawing emerged. Often the highly modulated midtone was lifted out with a kneaded eraser. This proved quite effective in many drawings.
